Welcome to Offbeat Safaris - Established in 1990
Kenya is the birthplace of safari (Swahili for a journey). Ever since the railway cut through to the hinterland in 1900, famous names such as Hemmingway, Finch Hatton, Roosevelt and many more have come here to safari and left spell bound having experienced the wonders of this magical land.
Big game, untouched tribes and stunning landscapes combine to produce what is often described as the holiday of a life time.
It takes years of experience to establish a safari company that can genuinely claim to take people to true wilderness areas of Africa whilst maintaining the high standards of the old traditional safaris. After 25 years operating safaris in Kenya, Offbeat Safaris can proudly say they have achieved this. We continue to provide our clients with a safari experience based on four founding principles:
- Charismatic guides
- A passion and respect for Africa’s wildlife
- High standards of comfort and service
- Small exclusive lodges and camps with a maximum of 14 beds
Offbeat Safaris have a collection of unique camps and lodges in the Masai Mara, Meru National Park, The Great Rift Valley and in the Laikipia region of Northern Kenya as well as organising Africa's most exciting mobile horse riding safaris.
Our ground handling operation arranges safaris to all these locations as well as throughout East Africa’s spectacular range of destinations including the Indian Ocean coastline.
