We had the most fantastic time in Kenya. The ride was so well designed and organized. We saw amazing game including giraffes fighting, elephants wallowing in a mud bath, lions mating, a cheetah hanging out lazily under a tree. We rode very close to lions, elephants, buffalo, had great fun crossing the hippo and croc filled river and popping over ele-made jumps. Probably the highlight for me was cantering with the plains game; hundreds of wildebeest, zebra, antelope running all around us, such a magnificent and memorable experience. The camping spots were spectacular, food wonderful, game drives such fun sitting atop the Land Rover, and the staff were brilliant. The horses were in beautiful condition; fit, well-mannered and knew their job well. And Tristan was an incredible guide. He couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great time. His knowledge of the flora and fauna, history, culture, is remarkable. He made the riding very exciting, safe but you felt at times you were just on the edge; thrilling! Quite an extraordinary man. Ending our trip at Deloraine was the perfect end to a magical trip. What a special place. Out of all the riding and wildlife trips I have taken over the past 25 years (and there have been many!) this has been one of the most enjoyable and fantastic trips for so many reasons. I have left a little of my heart behind in Kenya for sure....it couldn’t have been more perfect. The beautiful memories will stay with me forever.
